Vaginoplasty

Vaginal tightening by surgery, laser or radiofrequency

Vaginoplasty at Dr. Caroline Osman's clinic in Downtown Beirut

In short

Tightening of the perineal muscles to restore tone and sexual gratification, surgically under local anesthesia or non-surgically with laser or radiofrequency.

Who is vaginoplasty for?

Vaginoplasty is a procedure that enhances the feelings of sexual gratification and should allow women to receive and give more pleasure when making love. It is advised for:

  • Women who have experienced childbirth: vaginal muscles tend to expand during delivery.
  • Every woman complaining of anorgasmia: on examination Dr. Caroline can check the tonicity of the perineal muscle, if weak or loose, or weakness in the G-spot.

Vaginoplasty by surgery

This can be embarrassing, uncomfortable and lead to sexual dissatisfaction. During consultation and on examination, Dr. Caroline will advise which type of vaginoplasty you need: by surgery, by laser or by radiofrequency. The aim of the surgery is to improve the tone of the vagina by tightening the perineal muscles (multiple layers depending on your case). It is done as one-day surgery at the hospital under local anesthesia over a few hours and you leave the same day. Dr. Caroline will provide a prescription with painkillers. Complications are rare and the recovery time is 40 days.

Non-surgical vaginoplasty by laser or radiofrequency

  • Are RF and laser treatments painful? Both RF and laser treatments heat up the tissues, but they are well tolerated. They can be performed in a clinic or hospital.
  • Will I need anesthesia? RF treatments are done without anesthesia. Laser treatment of the vaginal canal may be done without anesthesia, but external treatment is typically done with topical anesthesia.
  • Will I need pain pills afterward? There is typically minimal to no tenderness after RF or laser treatment, and patients usually don't need post-treatment medication.
  • What should I expect after a treatment? Patients sometimes experience vaginal discharge for a few days, and depending on the device used may be instructed to refrain from intercourse and tampons for one to four days.
  • Will I notice results right away? Heating the tissues affects the cells producing collagen, so the tightening effect may take a month. Tightening of the labia majora with RF can be apparent immediately, while laser treatment is more superficial and takes several days to heal.
