In-Vitro fertilization
In-Vitro Fertilization (IVF) is a complex series of procedures used to help couples with fertility, prevention of genetic problems and assist with the conception of a child.
Insemination and IVF techniques can be directed in a variety of situations.
Dr. Caroline OSMAN will explain to you the technique and the protocols of In-Vitro fertilization (IVF).
It is a process by which an egg is fertilized by sperm outside the body, the process involves monitoring and stimulating a woman’s ovulatory process, removing eggs from the woman’s ovaries, and letting sperm fertilize them in a fluid medium in a laboratory.
The fertilized egg (zygote) is cultured for 2–6 days in a growth medium and is then implanted in the woman’s uterus, with the intention of establishing a successful pregnancy.
